Square bathtubs are more comfortable than you might think: despite their name, this type of stone bathtub rarely has sharp edges, opting for smooth, rounded corners rather than a fully literal rectangular design. Additionally, the pure stone material is naturally smooth and free of uncomfortable bumps and imperfections.

Small square bathtubs are particularly modern because their ergonomic design addresses concerns of efficiency and optimization that weren’t necessarily big concerns in previous design eras. Additionally, modern rectangular bathtubs have smooth, geometric designs that are difficult to create without modern sculpting technology and techniques.
Square bathtubs are the most space-efficient shape of tub, able to be easily tucked away into a cozy corner. Modern square bathtubs can either be freestanding or installed into the room, and both methods can free up a lot of space. But ironically, these tight-nit tubs must be fairly big to be comfortable. Large square bathtubs won’t take up as much room as other shapes of similar sizes, but smaller ones may feel cramped.
Square bathtubs are often installed directly into the room: that is, they are not freestanding stone bathtubs. This can lead to a cheaper product occasionally under a thousand dollars, but heavy installation fees are piled on top of it. The typical size of a square bathtub is forty inches (a bit over a yard) to seventy inches (not quite six feet). Size is self-explanatory, although square and rectangular bathtubs have the added benefit of consistent right angles that allow it to fit into any corner regardless of size. Location, of course, is whether or not you want to fit your tub into a corner at all, or keep it as a freestanding square bathtub. Freestanding square bathtubs are a whole different design that must be accounted for during your selection.
